NOKTA ENGINEERING: SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY-CONSCIOUS
Hundreds of barrels of toxic waste was found buried in Tuzla’s Orhanlı district on March 20th, 2006 and then in Gebze’s Şekerpınar district on July 3rd. As soon as news reached us, we contacted the Governership of Istanbul and İzaydaş directors in suspicion of more barrels under the ground.

Tuzla / Orhanli :

We communicated our expertise in the detection of underground metal, of empty spaces and excavated land, which would greatly accelerate the efforts in detection and cleaning of waste in the region to Ahmet AYDIN, the Principal Clerk of İzaydaş and through him, to Bilal ŞENGÜN, the General Manager.

We let them know that we could immediately bring our team of experts to the region and run all the necessary inspections using our state of the excellent detector technology, without expecting any rewards.

Our genuine concern and interest in helping were received well by İzaydaş and our team was invited to start inspections in the work area. Upon this invitation, a team of experts went to the region led by the Mehmet ÖNLEK, Chairman of NOKTA ENGINEERING.

After a first round of inspections, 8 other locations were identified as possibly containing toxic waste in barrels or hidden in similar ways.

Not long after, more barrels were found with the excavation of identified locations and the process of clearing the area off toxic waste was thus greatly shortened.

We take pride of serving our country with our role in effectively accelerating the ongoing efforts and decreasing the risk of hazards attached.

Letters of acknowledgement sent to us by İzaydaş can be found through this link.

We will be on the lookout if need arises for our team of experts, ready to fulfill our social responsibility and to serve our country in any way possible. You may reach our call center at +90 (216) 391-0606 and inquire for inspections.

Gebze / Sekerpinar :
We had previously been actively involved in İZAYDAŞ’s work on the toxic barrels found in Tuzla’s Orhanlı district, by inspecting the area and successfully identifying locations that covered a big number of other barrels which lead to their removal.

On July 3rd, 2006 İZAYDAŞ was informed about new barrels in Gebze's Şekerpınar region and we dispatched our team of experts immediately after receiving a call for support.

Because the area was used as a junkyard before, our work was more complicated than before. We received metal signals almost everywhere but there were points that gave only intensive signals. Judging with our expertise on land, we reached the conclusion that the signals weren’t resulting from barrels, but we did advise the excavation of a few points to make sure. Metal pieces, which were almost as big as barrels, were found on these locations. No barrels however were found in the area.

We saved İZAYDAŞ and other public organizations valuable time and money by revealing the information on barrels as unfound. We will continue our work in social responsibility with the velocity and accuracy it deserves. Click here to read the related news.
